Australian Services Roundtable (ASR) congratulates the Hon Steven Ciobo as Australia’s new Trade and Investment Minister.
ASR CEO, Alina Bain said: “This new cabinet appointment comes at a pivotal time for Australia’s services industry. The need for continued momentum for Australia’s trade agenda is now more important than ever. Australia’s economy is growing and this growth is underpinned by a vibrant and innovative services industry which accounts for 70% of Australia’s economy and four out of five jobs. However, trade in services is lagging behind and accounts for only 17% of exports.”
